The spot has 11 public charging ports, four of them - especially fast ports with a charging capacity of up to 150 kilowatts (kW), Latvenergo said. The ultra-fast charging station can charge a car with a 50 kilowatt-hour (kWh) capacity battery over an average of 15 minutes, provided that the charge is between 5% and 85%, and the car's other parameters are able to capture such charging power.

Latvenergo board member Kaspars Cikmačs said that the company also adjusted its previous forecasts – in 2019 it was estimated that there would be 36,000 electric cars in Latvia in 2030, but now the forecast for Latvenergo is around 60 000.  Ansis Valdovskis, chief of the “Latvenergo” Electrical Transport charging network, explained that there will be a gradual increase in the number of particularly fast-charging ports, and 150 kW charging will increasingly be used in new charging stations.

The “Elektrum Drive” charging network is available in major cities of Latvia. There are 130 charging locations on the network. By the end of the year, the company also plans to start operations in neighboring countries.
